1. Tefal Fryers
Although
based in France, Tefal Fryers (http://www.tefal.co.uk) is a company that
produces homeware and kitchen appliances for the UK market.
Tefal
is a subsidiary company and is owned by Group SEB. If you are in the UK and
similar countries in Europe, you will likely be familiar with this company as
Tefal. However, the company is promoted in the United States and some other
countries as T-Fal.
Therefore,
it is possible that some of the products that are available to you in the UK are
not readily available to others in United States even though their operations
are related.
The
name Tefal is not just a stranded name but one that has connotations. FEFlon
and Aluminum is actually what the founders syndicated to arrive at Tefal.
With
over 70 years of producing consumer products, the company is relentless in help
you simplify the various activities in your life through the introduction of
new innovative devices. It is the first company to invent the wireless iron, so
that consumers like you don't go through the stress of using a corded iron.
Not
only is Tefal working towards making people's lives healthier, they are also
producing affordable products so that they can have a wider reach. Along with that,
the company provides different brands at different prices and features to serve
varying needs of the populace.
One
thing about Tefal is that they are not a company that produces just health fryers;
they produce other consumer products too such as linen care products and
non-stick cooking products.
Therefore,
if this happens to be your favourite brand, you will not suffer a dearth of
options for your cooking needs. Most importantly, you will find the company's
line of deep fat fryers are one of the best in the industry.
The
company has produced different health fryers such as the ActiFry Plus, ActiFry
Low Fat Fryer, X-Large ActiFry Express Health Fryer, ActiFry 2 in 1, Tefal
FR333040 Easy Pro Fryer. All these are great products but we found the Tefal
FR333040 Easy Pro Fryer to be suitable for those who are looking for a
well-built, professional stainless steel fat fryer.
The
Tefal FR333040 Easy Pro Fryer comes with lots features that can help you fry
healthy, low-fat chips. The product features an adjustable thermostat which
allows you to select your own temperature and fry within 150-1900
Celcius.
This
means you can maintain a dependable temperature all through every frying you
will be doing. You don't have to stay with the fryer throughout - instead you
can focus on other things while your chips fry.
This is
a great advantage over all the other models that lacks this feature. The item
you are frying will also fry faster because the heating element is internally
submerged. This means that the oil will be directly in contact with the heating
element, thus going hot quickly.
When
cooking, you wouldn't have to life the lid and bowl before your food is done,
thanks to the transparent cooking lid. All you have to do is peep and you will
be able to see the progress of what you are frying.
The
premium design of the Tefal FR333040 Easy Pro Fryer also makes it easy to
clean. It comes with an enamel bowl that is not only removable but is also very
easy to clean. Except the heating block, you can take apart all the parts of
this unit and they are dishwasher safe.
If you
like eating fried food a lot, you can save time on cleaning since you can
dissemble and wash the unit quickly.
Another
feature that is worth mentioning is the cool zone technology on this fryer.
This technology helps in keeping the temperature under the heating element on a
low side so that your cooking remnant will remain cool. This means that crumbs
that remain after cooking will not burn and disfigure the fryer.
And
because your chips are managed under a mild temperature level, they will maintain
a lovely texture. Expect your family to praise your cooking prowess when you
make chips for the family with your Tefal Easy Pro Deep Fryer.
If you
are among those who prefer to only buy kitchenware that conforms to their
kitchen decor, the Tefal FR333040 Easy Pro Fryer will not disappoint you.
With its
plain stainless steel construction and viewing window, you shouldn't have
problem matching it with the rest of the items on your countertop. In addition,
when the wall of the fryer heats up, it will not be too hot to touch, which is
the advantage of having the cool zone technology.
While
every product promises to give you the best experience, not all of them can
really deliver 100% satisfactory experience. It doesn't matter whether you are
pro or an amateur just getting your feet wet, you are likely to face some
problems while using this.
One of
this is the possibility for the outside of the unit to rust quickly. The best
way to prevent this is to ensure you clean the Tefal FR333040 Stainless Steel
Dryer well and ensure it is completely dried out before putting it aside.
The
food capacity of this unit sits just at 1.2kg. This means each time you prepare
food with it; it will only be enough for 2-3 people. Therefore, if you cook for
many people at a time or regularly receive guests, you might not find this
ideal for your needs.
But
there is an advantage to this. Because it is compact and small, it doesn't take
too much space on your kitchen counter. One last thing you should know about
this model is that it doesn't come with a draining tap.
A
draining tap allows you to easily drain off water from the unit such that you
don’t need a dishwasher to clean it per say. But for the absent of the tap,
this can make cleaning difficult and that's what most people complain about
this product. If you don’t mind all these, then this is a great product to buy
for your family.
2. Delonghi Fryers
As
perfectionist, I often found myself researching to a dot any product I intend
purchasing. In fact, I like to research a brand I'm interested in and see how
it has been performing right from time.
Although
this might look like too much effort, I have benefited a lot in that I usually
end up buying the best quality products and also find myself in a position
where I can advise friends and family on products to buy and which brand is the
best.
For me,
researching the Delonghi Fryers brand and what the company stands for is a good
investment of time and effort. You will also find that after learning a thing
or two about this company, you will quickly decide if this company is for you
or not.
Founded
in 1902 by the de' Longhi family, the DeLonghi brand has been arround for
decades. It started as a workshop where small industrial parts are manufactured
in the heart of Italy.
Initially,
the company focuses on the production of portable heaters and air conditioners.
Because of their excellent offerings, Delonghi was well received by consumers,
which prompted the expansion into other categories of small domestic appliances
such as cooking, coffee, household cleaning, and ironing.
Whether
you are in Europe or North America or Canada, you will have a reach to some of
the products produced by this company. With presence in 33 countries and
products offering in different places of the world, Delonghi is dedicated to
bringing convenience and style to different households.
Each
innovative solution means that we can enjoy simpler life both in domestic and
commercial arena.
Although
the company continues to bring innovative product into the market, there was a
dire need for quality management in the helms of affairs.
As a
result, Kenwood (a company that produces food preparation appliances) acquired
Delonghi in 2001 fostering an expansion and diversification of the brand.
This
further cements Delonghi market share in the kitchen appliances and cooking
industry. The brand has introduced a wide variety of cooking appliances such as
their oil saving fryers.
If you
are looking at making an investment in a deep fat fryer, the Delonghi FH1130
MultiFry is an affordable, durable, and high quality fryer to invest in.
Because
I happen to suffer from pimples when I consume too much oil, I love to buy a
product that can produce those tasty chips with very low amount of oil.
Fortunately,
the Delonghi FH1130 MultiFry is one of the fryers promotes natural and
healthier cooking with its low-oil frying capabilities. Unlike the commercial
deep fryers, it uses significantly less oil so you can eat your chips without
feeling a pinch of guilt.
When
using the Delonghi FH1130 MultiFry, you are actually not limited to making
chips. You can also try out other recipes like curry, risotto and a whole lot
of other frozen and fresh foods. This means you will that you won't think about
buying additional units when it's time to try out a new recipe.
Thanks
to the Surround Heating System (SHS) technology, you can keep your fried food
tasty and juicy inside but crispy on the outside. The technology uses both
upper and lower heating to ensure your food cook faster while saving that
savoury texture and taste. And because the technology heats up below and above,
there is even circulation of air which makes your food cook evenly.
In
addition, the fryer features a timer that makes cooking easy. Although most
people are familiar with the concept of using a timer on a kitchen appliance, they
might not pay attention to this if it is absent.
However,
the absence of one can actually spell the difference between a well-cooked,
tasty food and one that is rancid. With this time, you are leaving the harder
part to the fryer while handling the smaller, easier part.
Just
put the food in the bowl, add oil specified by your recipe, set the appropriate
temperature and there you go. The timer has a maximum of 99 minutes at which
stage most food is done. You can not only save time when preparing food but can
easily multitask which is handy when you are busy.
The
bowl on the fryer is non-sticky such that food removes easily and quickly, thus
making the cleaning easier on you. Since no food will stick to the bottom after
cooking, you can easily dedicate the cleaning task to your children when you
are busy and not be afraid of them not cleaning the fryer appropriately.
The fryer
equally features a removable paddle that allows you to cook delicate food like
fish without resulting in disintegration of the muscles and flesh after
cooking. Moreover, you can carry out other tasks while the static paddle mixes
the food for you.
The
timer, lid, paddle, and bowl on the dryer are dishwasher safe too. And if you
are a recipe fanatics who likes to try out new and unique recipes, you can
download the Delonghi Recipe App, which you can easily download after getting
your hands on the the Delonghi FH1130 MultiFry.
Pros and Cons of the the Delonghi FH1130 MultiFry
It is
suitable for one or two people. Whether you are buying for yourself only or
have the intention of using it with your partner, you will find it has all the
features and capability needed to serve your need.
You can
enjoy chips, chicken, bacon, chops, baked potatoes with your significant one.
And thanks to its versatility, you can replace your oven with it since you can
put almost anything that can go into a conventional oven into the Delonghi
FH1130 MultiFry.
Although
it doesn't grill, you will be able to enjoy a whole lot of other cooking. The
product is so simple and easy to use that you can actually use it without the
integrated timer (which is removable).
The
fryer stops when you open the lid to inspect the progress of what you are
cooking and you switch off/on when your food is done. If you are looking for a
fryer that is not only high quality but also delivers, this is it.
3. Breville Fryers
Breville
is an Australian manufacturer of small home appliances that was conceived in
1932 in Melbourne. The Breville brand is well-known with its innovative and
precedence in its market just like Apple is known to produce highly creative
and innovative gadgets.
The
first product of the company, the sandwich toaster, is the first of its kind
when it was first created. The company went on to sell up to 400,000 units in
the first year of the product life, quickly turning the Breville brand into a
household name.
To
enhance its reach, the company launches its subsidiaries in Great Britain and
New Zealand and met with the same success to the extent that the ‘Breville’
name almost became synonymous with the word ‘sandwich toast’.
One of
the successful lines of product from the company is their innovative fryers
with the Breville Easy Clean Deep Fryer at the forefront of the different
models in the market.
The Breville Easy Clean Deep Fryer
The
Breville Easy Clean Deep Fryer is another deep fryer from Breville that
promises to bring you excellent upgrades in your cooking experience. It comes
with most of the features that ensure you get the best from the functions.
The
first thing you will notice on it is the Digital Timer, which has an integrated
beep sound. What this does is to alert you after your food is done, which is
handy if you are working on another thing away from the fryer.
The
fryer also features a viewing window that helps you keep track of the progress
of the food you are preparing. I like this because I don't necessarily have to
come very close to the unit before I know what is going on inside it.
Another
thing I like on this unit is the rise and fall basket, which is not present in
the Delonghi FH1130 MultiFry (link to article) and Tefal FR333040 Easy Pro
Fryer (link to article) we have reviewed in the past.
What
the rise and fall basket does is that it faciliates the draining of oil from
the food. So you can easily separate the food from the oil while the food is
still in the fryer, which is handy when you are in a rush or busy.
It
features an enamel bowl, one that is removable so that you can clean it easily.
And with the 1kg food capacity, you can prepare a large batch of chips, fried
potatoes, or fish at a time. This is also accompanied by a 2L oil capacity that
is enough to hold any amount of food you are frying.
Thanks
to the temperature control on the Breville Easy Clean Deep Fryer, you can
choose how crispy you want your food to be and with the aid of both power on
and the temperature indicator, you can deduce the status of the fryer during
any stage of cooking.
I think
this works well with the presence of the transparent window pane. I would even
love it if there is only one of this as I can easily get the idea when the food
is likely to get done whenever I check with one them.
Another
nifty feature on this fryer is the ready-to-cook indicator. This actually
switches off the fryer when it reaches your desired temperature.
I'm
sure many others that have used this will appreciate it because it almost takes
up the job of the timer so either of them will come in and keep your fried food
from getting burnt.
Another
offering that is great on the Brevill Easy Clean Deep Fryer is the cool-touch
handles. Sometimes children can mess with this kind of appliance so it's a
great dividend to have something that is cool to the touch during a cooking
session.
And if
you happen to be someone who has clumsy hands, it doesn't burn you when you
touch it mistakenly. There is a permanent filter on the unit that prevents
smelling a cord storage that makes it easy to tuck the unit completely out of
the way when it's not in use. The lid too is removable, which translates into
easier washing and cleaning.
With
regards to the cooking, the manufacturer recommended oil but you can use
butter, margarine or solid fat. However, you will have to ensure this stay
within the minimum and maximum fill level. That also means that they take more
time to melt (except oil) and might not be economical.
Pros and Cons of the Breville Easy Clean Deep Fryer
The
Breville Easy Clean Deep Fryer has a safety locking lid which is great for
preventing your dog or a small child from getting into the goodies in the
fryer. The basket on the unit measures 175mm x 170mm x 75 high or deep and is
perfect for two persons.
You can
easily remove the oil container on the fryer so that you can dish-wash. Removing
the container is actually very easy, you just open the lid, the basket, and you
will be able to take out the container.
It
doesn't produce smoke or the amount that could lead to a hazard. As a consumer,
we all want to ensure we are careful with any kind of product we are buying
especially with kitchen appliances where a fire hazard is likely to break-out.
Fortunately,
the Breville Easy Clean Deep Fryer produces more of steam rather than smoke
which make it safe for you. In addition, the handle of the unit is cool to the
touch and the sides are going to be a bit warm (not hot) when in use so you can
touch them.
In
fact, the fryer can heat to as much as 190 degree and still be safe to touch,
which is a great feature to have for us health conscious peep.
The
handle on the Breville Easy Clean Deep Fryer is attached to the basket and is
collapsible and you can also unscrew it if you wish to wash the basket and
handle separately, which can happen on occasion especially when you want to do
a deep cleaning.
In
addition, the basket can easily be raised with the lid closed down, which
further impresses a simple and easy to use mechanism of the Breville Easy Clean
Deep Fryer.
Some
people have found they can use this dryer with an extension cord. If you are
going to do this though, you will need to switch on the wall because this unit
lacks the ON/OFF buttons.
4. Russell Hobbs Fryer
Looking
to get your tasty buds satisfied? Then a deep fryer can go a long way in
helping you. Instead of going treating yourself to a take-out (it can be
extremely fun, but can also be expensive if you do it regularly), you can sit
down at home and prepare your own dried food right at home.
Whether
you have a small family or you are living on your own, you will find the
Russell Hobbs 24580 offers a decent capacity to carry out your cooking voyage
or challenges if you like. Not only will your food be cooked to perfection,
they will also taste great and succulent.
The
Russell Hobbs 24580 not only prepares crunchy chips, it also looks great and
should go with your current kitchen decor. This fryer comes with temperature
control and a classic black finish, which is good for keeping the aesthetic
look of your kitchen spot on.
You can
use it to fry your onion rings, potatoes, and crips to perfection. You will be
able to fry 1.5 litre of succulent food and with its large 3.3L oil capacity,
your food will be tasty than ever.
With
its 1.2kg food capacity and 3.3L oil capacity, the Russell Hobbs 24580 - which
measures 3.9 x 26.5 x 25.6 cm and weighs 3.6kg - is one of the capacious fryers
on the market.
It lets
you prepare for the whole family without having to go through the stress of
making serving batches. And to make sure each cooking is easy, simple and fun;
it comes with a timer that ensures you don't engage in the boring aspects of
cooking.
It
easily comes apart so that you can easily reach all the corners when you are washing
it. Although the whole process might look complicated at first glance, you will
quickly get up and running once you understand the mechanism behind the fryer.
This
digital packaging comes with 2 filters, rise and fall basket, and instruction
booklet with frying guidelines and various batter recipes.
This
fryer is very simple to use and heats oil quickly. The benefit is that you
don't have to learn any particular techniques other than reading the manual and
trying out the different recipes provided.
After
trying a few times, you should have developed your own techniques that will
help you get your own chunky clips that will taste just the way you like them.
The
Russell Hobbs 24580 comes with a digital timer that can help you remove the
stress of cooking especially during those times you are busy. Sometimes I find
myself wanting to eat something but couldn't because I was busy.
These
along with the time I will spend cooking often discourage me so that I usually
end up eating-out. However, with this kind of feature, I can set timer on the
fryer and completely forget it while fully engrossed in my current activity and
I will still come back to a perfectly dried chips.
Advantages of the Russell Hobbs 24580 Digital Deep Fryer
The
fryer also comes with a rise and fall basket which takes the stress out of
accessing your food. I don't know about you, but if I can save a few minutes
every time I cook with a fryer because of a feature it has, I'll buy it.
The
bowl on this unit is also non-sticky and non-removable. Since food will not
stick to the bottom post-frying, cleaning will be easier and faster. And
whenever you want to check the progress of your food, you can do that through
the open viewing window without opening the lid.
You can
also cook all your food to your desired taste with the variable temperature on
the Russell Hobbs 24580 fryer.
This
nifty feature ensures that you cook with the optimal temperature everything,
which is what determine whether your food is crunchily sweet, crispy and tasty
or if it is dope and rough.
You
don't need extra oil to get the best taste. With the optimal temperature set,
the fryer circulate oil even thoroughly the item such that you can dip into it
straight without worrying about pushing pounds.
The
brushed stainless steel and black styling ensures that you get enough service
year out of this fryer. I often mention when I write buying guides to help
people buy products that durability is very important.
Of
course, you have to be able to afford it before buying it but if it's not
durable, you will either spend twice replacing it or buying another one which
will definitely set you back a few pounds.
You
don't have to handle the lifting as the lifting system in place takes care of
all that. The adjustable thermostat temperature control ensures you are frying
food at their optimal temperature and the light indicator tells you when power
is on and the oil is ready.
The sides
of the fryer are also cool to the touch so that clumsy hands don't get burnt when
mistakenly touching the fryer when it's in a high temperature state.
Because
you know when the fryer is on and it’s ready to cook, navigating and operating
the unit is quite easy. All the parts are also removable so that you can make
washing and cleaning as simple, quick, and hassle-free.
With
the adjustable temperature dial, you can customize the degree up to 190
degrees, which makes sure that you get everything specified to your need.
This
includes frying variety of foods such as chocolate bars, meat, potatoes, fish,
and other favorites the way you like it.
Disadvantages of the Russell Hobbs 24580 Digital Deep Fryer
Despite
the fact that this fryer is very big, the basket that accompanies it is
actually small. This means that preparing only a batch may not be enough for a
whole family at times, especially when there are guests around.
However,
if you are buying this for yourself or two people, then the basket should serve
you gallantly. Even when using with family, you shouldn’t need more than two
batches to get the desired size you need.
5. Lakeland Fryers
Lakeland
was founded by three brothers, Martin, Sam, and Julian Rayner in the 1960s
starting with a simple task of counting polythene bags for their dad.
Initially,
the company sold plastic for both farmers and the general populace but soon
moved to creating home freezing and kitchenware products with a resident
expert, Michelle.
With
the company's philosophy of 'take care of the customer and everything else will
take of itself' Lakeland continuously expands both in its reach, production,
and market share in the kitchenware industry.
They
soon became the face of the UK's leading kitchen and homeware supplier. Now,
with other 10 years in operation, the Lakeland brand has reached hundreds of
people serving them with some of the innovative appliances in the home and
kitchen.
One of
their leading products is the Lakeland Compact Stainless Steel Deep Fat Chip
Fryer. In the following paragraphs, you will learn all that you need to know
about this particular model. You will learn the features of this product, its
advantages and disadvantages to help you make an informed decision.
Lakeland Compact Stainless Steel Deep Fat Chip Fryer
This model
is another quality fryer from one of the leading brands of kitchenware
suppliers in the UK. The fryer is easy to use and comes with a viewing window
in the lid that allows you to check the progress of what you're frying without
have to lift the lid.
Although
it is compact, it can hold 1.5L of oil and 350gof chips, which is just the
right portion for two people. And if you are intending to enjoy the aroma of
perfectly fried chips, you will have more than enough to keep you healthy.
The
handle is cool to the touch, so that you can lift and check at any stage of the
cooking without being afraid of any hazard. It also comes in a stainless steel
casing and has an adjustable temperature control.
The
stainless steel casing ensures that your unit doesn’t rust in the earlier
stages and with the temperature control; you are going to be cooking food in
their optimal temperature. This unit measures 25 x 23 x 21cm in height with 900
of watts power. It comes with a removable basket that is equally dishwasher
safe.
Although
the Lakeland Compact Stainless Steel Deep Fat Chip Fryer works with most oil
types, it is recommended that you use crisp and dry cooking oil. Many users
have found this oil to be perfect for frying food items in this fryer.
However,
it is not a must because you can also use rapeseed oil, groundnut oil which has
a high smoke point and is flavourless. There is a debate as to which oil is the
best when it comes to staying healthy or if you are on diet and want to keep
the pounds under check.
Instead
of trying to figure out what works best before you try, you should probably get
yourself a crisp and dry and if it doesn't work, you can change it.
The
bowl on this unit is not removable so you have only the removable basket for
pouring the chips. This can be a bit of hassle especially when you are draining
the oil.
However,
the handle is attached to the basket and since it is removable, you should have
some leverage when take your food out. This means that you can store the handle
only separately but you can with the basket.
When
cooking, you can either leave the lid open or closed. To get the best, you
should try to fry your chips with the lid closed. This is important in keeping
the steam in the fryer which will give your fried foods that succulent texture
and crunchy taste.
Also,
you can leave the oil in the unit after cooking. But that will entirely depend
on how long you want to leave it. If it isn't going to be long and you want to
reuse it but if you intend to leave it for a long time, you are better off
decanting it from the unit.
When
cooking fish, make sure it is not bigger than 4 inches. Another important thing
is to pay attention to this specifically because the unit tend to cook fish
quickly and to ensure it doesn't cook past its optimal stage, it needs more
attention.
Once
you have cooked fish a few times, you should be able to determine how long it
fries to perfection. This will help you get things done right subsequent times
without having to keep an eye on it.
Advantages
There
are many things I like in this fryer and I will let you in on some of the
benefits of adding it to your arsenal of kitchenware. Other than chips, you can
pretty much make anything.
Not
only does it make perfect chips, you can also try sweet potato, fritters, are
even deep dry some Mars Bars to get those tingling taste buds satisfied.
You can
also fry small items like samosa, scotch eggs, prawns and doughnuts. In as much
as you are not cooking all these things at once, you should be fine frying all
of these with your fryer.
Another
advantage of this unit is that it allows you to balance the basket on top of
the fryer so you don't have to remove it completely. This is great for resting
your cooked chips and put them back after a while to make them crispy.
Once
you get the hang of this technique you will never worry about getting your
chips to be crispy. However, it might take more time than just frying and
taking them out right away but the taste is well worth it.
The
inner portion of this fryer is non-stick and not stainless steel. It is easy to
think the opposite because of the outer stainless steel. Because the inner is
non-stick, food will not stick to the bottom or sides of the bowl after frying
so cleaning is much easier and faster.
Disadvantages
One of
the problems you might face when using the Lakeland Compact Fryer is during the
time of draining oil from the unit. Before you can empty the oil from it, you
have to hold the pan and the lid while pouring the oil into another container.
This
can lead to some other problems while cleaning because oil drips will stain the
mark between the connection frying pan and the main body. For this reason, you
have to ensure you have a funnel in place when it's time to do this as that
will reduce the amount of oil drip and also facilitate effective decant of oil.
6. Cookworks Deep Fat Fryer
With
the Cookworks Deep Fat Fryer, you can now create your own fried foods at home
instead of going out for another take-out. With its powerful variable
temperature control and 1800 watt power, you can cook your food quickly and
efficiently.
It has
0.5kg food capacity and oil capacity of 2.5L that can make sufficient crispy
chips for two friend’s dinner. It's not too big so it can easily stand on your
kitchen countertop and not take too much space.
Moreover,
the variable temperature can be adjusted from 130degree C up to 190degree C. It
also have a rise and fall basket, a permanent removable and odour filter, oil
filter, and a cool zone to keep it cool longer.
Consumer Reviews and Rating
All
products, especially consumer products, receive its fair share of reviews,
ratings, or recommendation. And if the product is available online like this
one, there is every possibility that it will have thousands of reviews from
previous users.
Looking
at the database of reviews and ratings on this product, I can see there is
generally a positive tone surrounding it. Most customers are satisfied with the
performance of this fryer purely based on the price. This means that the
price-value ratio of this fryer is very high, which is good.
Also,
some users like that it is compact, portable, and doesn't take up too much
space. I'll go with this one but if you are not a fan of small items, you may
want to look at the Breville model (link to the review article) which is bigger
than this one.
While
going through reviews, a bigger percentage of people states that it heats up
quickly and is easy to handle. The simple design makes life simple for busy
people since there isn't much to do than to put the food in the bowl with the
oil and set the optimal temperature. I will also add that it has a high safety
rating and stores easily.
Variable Temperature and 1800 Watt
I like
the variable temperature control because it enables anyone to cook food at
their optimal temperature. You don’t need a lot of hard manual reading before
getting it up and wiping up your favorite recipes.
Advantages
One of
the advantages of this unit is that it is not as intimidating as a pan of oven
and you can leave the lid closed while cooking. If you have used an oven
before, you know how you have to go through a learning curve and pray every
time you are cooking that you don't mistakenly get your hands on the hot pan.
Although
the oven is not dangerous and not as intimidating once you get the hang of it,
but this just go to show that this unit is hands-free and simpler to use
compare to using an oven.
Although
it looks a bit small, it can make two sides of fries or large place of fries to
satisfy two or an individual. I hate having appliances taking up too much space
real estate in my home, especially in the kitchen.
So
every time I'm buying I am always hunting models that are the right fit:
Portable, not too small and not too big. Of course, this might not work for you
if you are looking to cater for a family, especially a large one.
In this
case, you may want to check out the Breville Deep Dryer (link to the review
article), which is bigger and has more capacity than this model. But if you are
like me, you will want to get this because of the portability and small foot
print.
Another
advantage of this is that it can be a great maker of smaller batches – because
I have a tendency to overeat or binge when there is so much to it.
So I
always prefer to make smaller batches so that after getting through one, it
will be difficult for me to go back and prepare a new one as the stress and
effort will not be worth.
So, if
you are buying for a larger family, you may be disappointed because the
capacity may not be sufficient. But if you can go through several batches with
patient, then you can try this.
The
price of this item is just right. And if you have a small kitchen, it will be a
perfect fit. If you are on your own, it will work well for you as it takes 1
and 1/2 litres of oil.
The
basket is also designed to be suitable for one-person. And thanks to the filter
on the lid, you can use the unit with the lid closed down without experience
smell or rust. On the price, many users have found it to be a good one and I
agree to that considering that it actually delivers at this price point.
I also
like this unit for its simplicity married to the lightweight. It is not out of
place to want to transfer the unit from your kitchen to other areas of the
house. I know some customers that have dedicated area in their garage where
they can use product like this, especially those ones that make lots of noise.
Also, I
have found that I need to move some kitchen appliance out of their place to be
used outside occasionally especially during a big event. In all these cases, a
lightweight fryer will beat one that is heavier, which scores another plus for
this product.
Disadvantages
If you
are an impatient chef, you may find that this unit takes a while to completely
heat up, as much as 8 minutes might be needed before it is fully ready.
While
this may be crushing your excitement, you will generally get used to it.
Moreover, you don't have to stand on it and wait for it to eat up. Once you
turn it on, you can handle other things and return to it once it is fully
heated.
7. The Philips Fryers
Why
choose Philips when there are many other brands out there? With over 80 years
of producing kitchen appliances and developing the passion for homemade food,
Philips has been leading in the consumer products industry.
It is
not just about producing products that consumers can buy but producing
something that can help you lead a healthy life. In fact, the aim of the
company is to help you make safe and healthy food from scratch without the
hassle!
Philips HD9220/20 Healthier Oil Free Airfryer
The
Philips Fryer allows you to use less oil than conventional deep fryer while
still maintaining that tasty, crunchy chips. With modern fryers like this
model, you don't have to use more oil to keep your fries in good texture; all
you need is one appliance to help you.
This
fryer helps you pre-set your desired temperature before you start cooking and
it maintains all that throughout the cooking even if you are frying several
batches at a time. A ready sound indicator alerts you when your fried food is
ready while the pre-set timer can cook up to 30 minutes and auto-shut off.
With
this, you can employ a hands-free approach to cooking your next batches of
fries. Put the food in the bowl, add the desire amount of oil specified in your
recipe, set the timer and the appropriate temperature using the adjustable
temperature control and you can watch your food cook automatically to your
liking.
Don't
have your own recipe book? No worries! The Philips HD9220/20 Healthier Oil Free
Airfryer comes with a recipe booklet with other 30 recipes that will last you
for a couple of months – of course, a month if you try out a different recipe
every single day.
Rapid Air Technology
According
to the manufacturer, you can get the same good old taste with the Philips
HD9220/20 Healthier Oil Free Airfryer with 23% fewer calories. How is this
possible? The Patented Rapid Air Technology ensures that air circulation is
balanced throughout the internal of the fryer promoting crispy and delicious
dried food.
To get
that healthier result, this technology is able to fry your food such that the
inside is tender and succulent while the outside maintain that crispy texture.
You aren't limited to just frying because with this model, you can also grill,
roast, or bake your favorite food to your desired taste with even less
calories.
Recipe Booklet
Unlike
other models, the Philips HD9220/20 Healthier Oil Free Airfryer comes with
recipe booklet that features more than 25 recipes ranging from quishes to
brownies to keep you inspired.
Because
the timer controls the cooking period and the adjustable temperature control
preserve the right temperature for each food item, you will find it easy to use
and manipulate the Philips HD9220/20 Healthier Oil Free Airfryer to your own
taste.
The
timer can shut-off the machine when the food is done and the ready and the
indicator light will alert you so that you can come to see the food is ready.
Adequate Air Flow
There
is also an air filter on the Philips Air Fryer such that it allows a good flow
of air in and out of the fryer to prevent odour from building up and spoiling
the nice aroma of your freshly fried foods.
While a
conventional can suffer from this smelling and make food not to interesting to
eat, you will not experience the same problem with this unit. Because of this,
it is easier to wash than conventional deep fryers and easy for a regular
frying of food.
The Timer
Although
some customers find that they don't use the timer often since they are used to
using a unit that doesn't come with one, you should use it. This is because it
can save you a lot of time. Fortunately, this timer does not just come with the
typical timer but also with a sound indicator.
This
will alert you when your food is ready. The benefit of this, if it is not yet
obvious, is that you can set your food with the timer (which has a maximum
pre-set of 30 minutes) and then go on with other activities.
As soon
as the food is ready, you return and serve your freshly baked or fried food. I
don't know someone who wouldn't like this hands-free approach of preparing
food, especially one that tastes excellently!
Temperature Control
Another
feature on the AirFryer is its adjustable temperature control which is up to
200 degrees. Remember that the wider the range of degree or the high the
maximum degree on a fryer, the more varied the kinds of food you can cook in
it.
Some
units come with 160 degrees, while others are less, but 2000 is one
of the highest you can get on the market. The temperature control has a dial
that allows you to select the ideal cooking temperature, after which the fryer
takes care of the rest. On the plus side, there is also a display to the dial
which makes it even more intuitive and useful.
Wattage
The
wattage is often used to describe how powerful the motor on a fryer is. The
high it is, the more powerful it is. And when you buy a fryer like the Philips
HD9220/20 Airfryer with a powerful motor, cooking will be faster.
I
prefer to get something that is above 1000 W because it will affect how fast
food cooks on the fryer. Fortunately, the Philips HD9220/20 Airfryer comes with
a whopping 1425 W motor which gives you best result in a short period.
Capacity
To be
honest, I'm quite disappointed with the Philips HD9220/20 Airfryer capacity.
With only 0.8kg cooking capacity, it might not be suitable for producing large
quantities in a go. If you check our other reviews (link to the reviews page),
you will see that we have reviewed models with higher capacities.
Typically,
a decent one will have more 1kg cooking capacity or more. But if you are using
this yourself, you may not worry too much since it should serve one person.
8. Morphy Richards Accents 45083 Deep Fat Fryer
The
Morphy Richards brand started with Charles Richards and Donal Morphy in the
90s; Charles working as a salesman while Morphy was working as an engineer.
They
started the company with production in gas, radio, and television equipment.
Fast forward to the present day and the company is now producing and supplying
deep fryers, coffee makers, sandwich toasters, kettles, and other homeware and
cookware.
When buying
the Morphy Richards Accent Deep fryer, you need to take into consideration the
following factors so that you can evaluate the model holistically:
· Quality
· Performance
· Design
· Features
· Ease
of Use
Quality
The
Morphy Richards Accents 45083 is made from stainless steel material, red in
color and comes with removable oil container and cord storage.
Performance
As you
will see towards the end of this review, you will see that this unit
performance is average and not that great. While most people have found it
helps them getting their food done, I can't say it actually builds on the
brands excellent quality ratings.
Design
This
model is one of the most intuitive, aesthetically pleasing fryers I've come
across. If you are going to buy it purely on this, your money will be well
spent. Although it might take up some spaces when placed on the countertop, you
be able to match it with the rest of your decor. It might even stand out from
the rest.
Features
If
there are no features on a deep fat fryer, you will just have a metallic bowl
strapped to a small oven with a cord. You probably might be able to boil water
in it or even cook rice, but you can't do more than that. This is why it is
important to know some of the features on a product before deciding you will
buy it.
Fortunately,
the Morphy Richards Accents 45083 Deep Fat Fryer does not lack good features.
It has an assorted number of features that makes both frying and cleaning
afterwards a breeze. The deep fryer is made from a stainless steel, has a 3L
oil capacity and 1kg food capacity.
Because
this is a stainless steel, you should expect to derive many service years from
it without rusting. It is better than plastic because you don't have to worry
about presence of chemical substances getting into your food or the fryer
getting roasted after a couple of usage.
In a
previous review (link to the 7th review preceding this), having a food capacity
from 1kg above is adequate and that is what I will go for as against models
that have less than 1kg. While this is a personal preference, it should
actually influence your purchase if you are buying to prepare food for a large
family.
Even
though I'm a single entity, I still prefer to have something with at least 1kg
of cooking capacity so that I can crank out a large quantity of fried goodies
at once. This should go well with you too if you have my taste.
The
unit sports a variable thermometer control (150-190 degree C). First, most
fryers I've reviewed usually have this so this isn't a big one on this model.
However,
it is better to have one than not to have at all. With this, you can set the
appropriate temperature for the food you are cooking at the moment with this
range: 150-1900 C.
Some
foods require a higher degree to be cooked perfectly, while others such as
fish, etc., will cook to perfection with a lower temperature. I won't discount
the fact that there is a wide range here so you should be able to use this
model with your favorite treats.
Because
we just discuss temperature, we will naturally want to touch the design of the
handle. I'm a very careless person and I get clumsy hands when it comes to
cooking.
I don't
know if it's because of my own averseness to cooking my own food or because I'm
an average chef. That is why this section is important especially if you are an
average Joe like me. Fortunately, we can rock the boat of the Morphy Richards
Accents 45083 Deep Fat Fryer as the handles are cool to the touch.
Meaning the handles will just stay normal
(cold, maybe?) all through the cooking. So you can lift it while your food is
going through a high-temp and not be burnt. If you are a mother with children
or you adopt your own children or just have children around, congrats!
The
feet (or bottom if you like) of the fryer is non-slip. This term refers to the
stability of the fryer while being used. It doesn't slip so it can be stable
and safe and easy to maneuver on your countertop.
I don't
imagine you will be move the unit so frequently but this can be very useful
when you mistakenly push or hit it accidentally.
I will
also like to mention that this unit has its own removable lid, control panel
and tank. Good news because washing will be a straight forward task. It also
has cord storage. I love these things. I'm usually paranoid when I see things
in disarray and like to work in a neat, tidy environment.
With
the cord storage, you can roll up the cord and pack it in there then go and
store the thing in your cupboard. And if it still stands on your countertop, it
will be elegant because there is no wire in view.
Ease of Use
While I
will love to praise this Morphy Richards fryer all through, some things are
just not meant to win all through. If you have tried other fryers you know they
give you total freedom when cooking.
Like
you can put your food in, set the timer, and go on your way until the thing
alerts you your food is ready. However, this unit actually would have the lid
open when you are cooking.
Because
it doesn't stay put, steam escapes and the oil may bubble over and to prevent
this, you may have to hold down the lid with your own hands. If you have
abundance of time and your children don't get involve in cooking, the Morphy
Richards Accents 45083 Deep Fat Fryer might be a good bargain.
But if
you are a large family, strapped off time, or busy, you may be disappoint with
this aspect of the unit. Because you will deal with smell or act as a guard at
some point since there is no venation on it.
9. Swan SD6080N Square Fryer
Although
the Swans Brand started with the production of polished aluminum products like
kettles, frying pans, and tea sets, the company has moved on to producing
kitchenware, home appliances, and cookware including their well-known deep
fryers.
One of
their well-known and recognized products is the Swan 2.5L Square Fryer that
uses a technology which reduces the amount of oils (thus calories) during
drying food items.
It has
a large 2.5L capacity that is energy efficient way of preparing deep-dried
foods such as fish, spring rolls, chicken and a whole lot of other foods.
It has
a non-stick pan that ensures pre-frying and post-frying is easy. And with a
fixed oil container and a cool-touch handle ensures you can handle the unit any
time even if it is on the highest degree.
Before
frying with this unit, you will need 2-2.5 litres of oil which you have to keep
within the specified Minimum/Maximum level. This is indicated on the surface of
the pot and if you go out of this range, you may experience bubbling or similar
incident so it is generally safe to follow this guideline. Generally, as long
as you are within the maximum, you shouldn't have a problem.
Capacity
Before
anything else, let's discuss the capacity of this fryer, which is so important
that I could buy a fryer based on it. As I would expect, this unit has a
generous capacity. It is 2.5 litres, which is much more than you can ask for if
you are a one-person operation.
The
thing about this is that you can fit in it more things than you can think
compared to the other brands we have reviewed on this website. From my previous
reviews I used to stress that I wouldn't consider anything that is less than
1kg in terms of capacity because that is what I consider to be decent.
With 2.5L
on this one, you can expect one batch to serve a whole family. Here, we are
talking about preparing flakey fish, onion rings, fried chicken, and everyone’s
favourite: chips.
Whether
you are honouring your guest or want to give your family a surprise treat, this
fryer will not disappoint you. No need for batch frying and because of its
ample cooking space, you will enjoy optimum cooking convenience.
Adjustable Thermostat
I feel
like a king every time I can have a complete control over my cooking. That is
why I always prefer a kitchen appliance to come with an adjustable thermostat
so that I can adjust the temperature to give each food its potential.
With
the four gear temperature function on the Swan SD6080N Square Fryer, this is
evidently possible. All I need to do is know the right temperature for each
recipe and I'm on for a nice, delicious treat.
Versatile Cooking
If you
can cook variety of items such as fish, chicken, chips, or onion rings on your
fryer, you won't bother whether there is an oven in your kitchen or not. I like
the fact that you can experiment with different exotic like samosa, spring
rolls, on this unit.
Along
with that, treats like fritters, churros, doughnuts can become constant at home
with this fryer. And with that, you know that you can curb your dessert
cravings without risk of going back in later.
Safety
It is
well known that adequate care should be taken when you are dealing with oil
especially one that is heated up. Fortunately, many producers of fryers are now
taken steps to ensure maximum safety when using their products.
The
Swan SD6080N Square Fryer is not out of the league here because it also
provides optimum safety. And because this doesn't disappoint in this aspect, I
will give it a good rating.
Easy to Clean
The
whole package is designed to make it as easy and stress-free to clean the unit
after frying from it. It has a non-stick inner pan that ensures your fries come
out wholesome and quickly.
With
food going out in their whole, there will be absence of any food sticking to
the bottom of the pan thus making post-use cleaning as easy as possible. After
a light wash, you can use a soft cloth to wipe it clean and it is ready for
your next cooking challenge - if you are trying out a new recipe.
Consumer Reviews and Rating
Although
this product is made to ease cleaning, there has actually been mixed reviews
from customers. Most found it comes with hassle to effectively cleaning it.
Cleaning is done by taking out the basket out of the bowl and rinsing
thoroughly.
Others
have found that cleaning it is just like other products, where you encounter
problems with some parts while cleaning. All in all, after a few cleanups, it
might be even easier than what you get at the beginning.
People
also love it for the good size and its efficiency in getting things done. If
you have children or tending a large family, I recommend this fryer because of
the ample space available for cooking a large quantity of food in every batch.
Also,
it doesn't require that you read a whole manual before you can adequately
operate it. Another thing I will like to mention is that it has a filter in the
ventilator, a very good feature to have. This ensures that air flows inside and
outside the unit while you are cooking so that there is no smell or any other
similar thing after you are done cooking.
The
only grip about this unit is that the side can actually get hot when you are
cooking with it. With other products I’ve reviewed, most companies try to make
their products (both the handle as well as the sides) cool to the touch even
while it’s in use.
Accordingly,
I will call this a gamble on safety, especially if you have children that may
get involved with cooking. Although it is not to the point that you get burnt
when you touch it, if you want one that is cool to the touch while cooking,
this unit may not serve you so well.
10. Buyer Guide on the Best Oils for Deep Fat Fryer
Now
that you have your own deep fat fryer (link to the review article about the
best deep fat fryer), it is time to look for the best oil to suit your fryer.
Some people can go on to buy any oil that is marketed to them without thinking
too much about it. This is good and should not be repelled.
But if
you are trying to be healthy and you're watching over the pounds, you know you
can't do something like that. You can settle on any oil just because there are
many types that are readily available to you. With this done, I have been able
to convince you why you need to do your research before settling on one.
So what
should you do now?
Simple!
When you are buying oil for a deep fryer, you have to look at two very
important things. These things will determine how feasible the oil is for deep
frying and ultimately, how healthy it is.
This
thing is what is called "Smoke Point". If you have never heard this
word before, I'll explain it shortly. But if you are familiar with this and you
just want to see which oil you need to buy, you can go to the next section
where I tell you which oil you should buy for your deep fryer.
So, a
smoke point is considered the point at which a oil can break down and release
toxic substances. The higher the smoke point of an oil, the higher the
temperature it can withstand.
Most
people don't pay much attention to this and this is why you'll see some people
using the wrong type of oil for their fryers, thus jeopardizing their health.
And
since you are trying to stay healthy and not become pregnant with extra pounds
as a result of cooking in your new fryer, we can't be like this people. So,
before you unzip your wallet and press in your card pin for any oil product,
you want to ensure that the oil is of a very high smoke point.
The
second thing is to only consider oils that have very low saturated fats. In
simple terms, you want to look for oils with unsaturated fats because saturated
fat is generally bad for your health and specifically bad for your heart.
Oils
that contain unsaturated fats are healthy and very beneficial to the heart.
These kinds of oil include peanut oil, olive oil, etc. We will cover more of
these shortly.
Now
that you know the two most important things to look for when scouring for the
oil to use with your fryer, let's go over some of the other factors that are
equally important. You can skip this, but I want to cover them because they are
very important if you are truly watching the pounds.
The Amount of Fat in Oil
Oils
have different fats. Some are good while some are bad. And at times, it depends
on what you are using the oil for or the expected temperature level you will be
subjecting it to. For example, some oils contain trans-fat and saturated fats,
but these are bad because they increase the blood cholesterol level.
I have
listed some of those that contain these at the end of this article, so when you
see them, try to avoid them. Other oils like olive oil, peanut oil, palm oil,
just to name a few are the healthier choices because they provide unsaturated
fats.
When
you choose one of these, you will enjoy improvement in your blood cholesterol
levels. Remember that if you can reduce your unhealthy diets (some studies
recommend less than 7%), the
better it is for your overall health.
Smoke
Point in Oil
When
oil reaches the smoke point and breaks down and release harmful chemical, it
becomes dangerous for consumption because of its possible negative effects on
health.
This is
why it is recommended that you use only oils with high smoke point since you
will most likely be cooking at high temperatures when using your fryer.
This
type of oil helps food cooks faster, mitigates excessive absorption of oil in
food and benefits the waistline. In order of smoke point level, sunflower and
olive oil have the highest smoke point followed by peanut oil and safflower
oil.
Even
with the very high smoke point of these oils, it is important not to leave them
at high temperature for long or use them repeatedly in frying.
When
they pass through repeated exposure to high temperature levels, these oils may
start forming trans-fats or unhealthy free radicals. This is why you should be
wary of consuming commercially fried foods as some scrupulous businesses may
use their frying oils many times which is very dangerous.
What Should Not Be Used for Frying
There
are many oils that you shouldn't use with your deep fryer, including vegetable
oils (https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/6-reasons-why-vegetable-oils-are-toxic).
Others include:
· Cottonseed
oil
· Grapeseed
oil
· Sunflower
oil
· Sesame
oil
· Rapeseed
oil
· Corn
oil
· Soybean
oil
· Safflower
oil
What You Should Be Using for Frying
You
should be looking at olive oil, which is very healthy cooking oil as it is high
in monounsaturated fatty acids. It can be used in the deep fryer for over 24
hours before it starts to excessively oxidize (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20678538).
Palm
oil is also good. It has a neutral flavour and is used extensively in Africa
for frying. But due to some concern about the sustainability of harvesting it,
it may not be widely accessible. Peanut oil is also widely used for deep
frying.
It has
a neutral taste and a very high smoke point, which is about 446 degree F (230 d
C). It doesn't absorb flavour of food so that it can be tried a couple times
(although it is better not to try it many times, just wanted to prove my point
here!)
In
terms of specific a specific oil to use, there are many options out there. One
of the best oils suitable for your deep frying need is the Lion & Globe
Peanut Oil 600ml /20 Fl. oz. Firstly, this oil is expensive. But it is well
worth especially if you do a lot of deep frying. It gives your fries a good
taste and also smells nicely.
Not
only is it well packaged, but has high quality content, and is even suitable
for Chinese cooking. Although it is a bit pricey, if you need it, you shouldn't
take a chance solely because of price.
11. How to Clean a Deep Fryer - Step by Step Guide
With a
deep fryer (link to the article on deep fryers), you have a convenient way to
cook all sorts of dishes and fried foods. And while you will typically enjoy
this appliance over a number of years, only a good maintenance can keep it in
good shape all through.
This
means regular cleaning and following manufacturer’s guideline on usage. In this
article, you will learn the first milestone - cleaning your fryer and keeping
it in tip-top condition.
Continuous
use of your deep fryer will undoubtedly lead to buildup of grime, dirt, debris
and possibly rust if you don't take good care of it. Therefore, regular
cleaning is needed. We are here to help you learn the best practices as well as
the tools of the trade.
How Often Should You Clean and Why?
Because
you will be using a lot of oil and frying foods with your fryer, you will be
exposing it to oil that might lead to the buildup of grime. In addition, it
will naturally get dirty and debris will settle on it as you use it.
If you
are using it only on occasions, your cleaning will be lighter but if it is
heavy usage, you will have to do a better job of cleaning it. If you can handle
it, it is better to cleaning it immediately after each use. Let me tell you the
secret to keep your deep fryer (and other kitchen appliance) is to clean them
immediately after use if they are not too big like your fryer, juicer, kettle,
and other items like that.
In
reality, this is not always feasible because we are busy beings by nature so
what is more ideal is to do a general cleaning weekly or monthly. If you are
busy, see if you can come up with a plan to keep your machine weekly, if not
then twice every month is good.
If you keep it longer than this, it might
become too become too dirt or have too much stuck-on grimes that cleaning may
gradually turn into a chore. This is why you see people throwing out their
items before it reaches it potential.
The Needed Tools
Before
you start cleaning your deep fryer, you need to first have all the washing
supplies in place. Moreover, it is better to have everything in place before
starting to wash. You don't want to get to the middle of a cleaning routine and
break off to go and get supply. These are some of the things you will need for
a good cleaning of your fryer:
· Container
for holding oil (drained from the fryer)
· Dishwashing
soap
· Kitchen
towels
· Plastic
bowl
· Sponge
· Scrub
pads
· Plastic
crub sponge
· Baking
soda
· Gloves
· Baking
Soda
Ask if
these, "aren't these too much" and you will be right. But you need
all for a thorough cleaning. Take out some and you will still get a good
cleaning (or something that is manageable).
How to Clean Your Deep Fryer
· The
first thing you want to do is have your deep fryer switched off. If you have
just recently used, it should be allowed to dry.
· Now,
you need to drain all the oil in it and keep it in clean, safe container if you
want to reuse the oil. The container can be plastic or stainless steel with the
latter recommended since it's easier to clean the oil after use.
· However,
if you don't have intention of reusing it, you need to dispose it off properly.
I used properly because if the oil has recanted, it may be smelling or changed
color which is why you should be thorough when disposing.
· Make
sure the container you are draining to is in the sink to avoid spilling oil on
the floor or your countertop. If there is a cord storage on the fryer, keep the
cord nicely tucked inside. If not, you can wrap the cable or cord in a kitchen
towel or similar so that water/oil spill won't get to it.
· Take
out the frying basket (and the permanent filter if it has one) and place them
aside.
· Using
a scrubbing tool like plastic spatula (don't use the metal one as it can peel
off the non-stick coat on the bowl and make food stick to the bowl when next
you cook), scrape the bottom and surface of the machine to remove any grime
buildup or remnant of food inside. Typically, this shouldn't take you much time
since if it is non-stick coated.
· Fill
it with boiled water (heat it with a kettle) until it reaches the level you
will fill up with oil or slightly higher. Now add oil dissolving detergent to
the water and stir to mix so that the grease can break down.
· Allow
the mixture to cool before washing with sponge and detergent. Make sure you
scrub the sides and bottom as necessary until there are no traces of oil on the
bowl. After that, rinse it completely with water.
· It
is possible some sticky film of oil will remain in the bowl. To remove them,
mix soda with warm water and rub the paste where there is sticky film. Wipe
with sponge or soft cloth until it is gone. After that, rinse it with water
thoroughly.
· Don't
use the fryer unless you are sure all part of it is dry. This is as important
as washing the fryer itself. Not doing short the electrical component on the
machine and this can result in permanent damage.
Conclusion
With
this guide, you should now be able to clean your deep fryer and keep it shiny,
tidy and ready for the next use. And following proper cleaning will help you
keep it in good shape and use it for a long period of time before needing
replacement.
If you
have not read our article on how to select the best oil for your deep fryer,
you can check it out (link to the article) here. It will help you learn all the
components you need to know about buying oil, which oil is the best and which
ones to avoid. And if you are yet to buy your own deep fryer, we have reviewed
them in this article (link to review article).
